The brief
A jewel box for their guests.
The clients host often and wanted their guest bath to feel collected and a little glamorous: lots of pattern, real texture and a few vintage touches. At under 6 feet wide, every surface had to earn its place.
- Art deco fan wallpaper in green and gold above a black wainscot
- Glossy handmade emerald tile wrapping the shower to the ceiling
- Marble octagon floor with black dots, a nod to vintage baths
- Milk glass sconces, an arched mirror and brushed brass at every touch point

Toward the shower and vanity
Glass-front shower under the transom, with the toilet and vanity along one wall and all three patterns in view.

Toward the entry
Arched brass mirror and milk glass sconces over the vanity, with the door opening onto the octagon floor.
Modeled to scale
Drawn to scale: 5'5" × 7'9" with 8' ceilings. Near walls cut away to show the layout.
Material palette
Green, gold and black and white
Three patterns share the room without competing: the fan wallpaper, the wavy glazed tile and the octagon floor. Black and brass tie them together.

- Marble
- Burgundy

Why it works
Three patterns, one quiet palette.
Fan wallpaper, wavy tile and the octagon floor all share green, gold, black and white, so the room feels rich instead of busy. Brass repeats at every touch point.
